One of the oldest forms of tobacco use is the dried, powdered leaf intended for insufflation or “sniffing” called Snuff. A smoke-free product with minimal known health risks makes Snuff an effective, appealing and affordable NRT. Snuff can be quite enjoyable when proper technique is employed but frustrating before it’s mastered. Mixed with liquids, snuff becomes “snus” or “dip”; another form of reduced risk smokeless tobacco. Even these types of tobacco use seem to annoy anti-tobacco opportunist’s who feel smokers need suffer a period of atonement for past indulgences. Ironically, the almost century old tradition of a filled snuffbox in our Senate exists to this day!
