....................... one seriously despicable act.

The childlike minds of dog fighters proclaiming a love for dogs, playing at running high and low emotions watching their “loved ones” fight. They fabricate the illusion that dog fighting is a foregone conclusion; dogs being willing participants and partners in this debacle. Much of society holds these beliefs as truth and condemns these dogs, certain breeds in particular, as being inherently suspect. The reality is that dogs are coerced to fight, starved and goaded to battle. The losing ‘trainers’ extract their beaten combatants from the rings offering play by plays of heroic battles, others are left. The luckier ones are culled before becoming fodder in their brutal training regimens.

This perverted activity smacks of child abuse. Anyone who has grown up around dogs and even many who haven’t can testify to their loyalty and capacity for human-like emotions. Taking advantage of this, their eagerness to please and loyalty and using their genetics against them is one seriously despicable act. That these perverts are allowed around children much less bear their own is an unfortunate circumstance, raising even more depravity. Promoting their own kids to “find lost” dogs though carries almost no risk. The lost ones that never come back, any dog will do. The fights are even more profitable when the combatants are free, chow’s not much of a consideration until their new fighter wins.

The truth is, however unfortunate it is, it takes a certain type of individual to properly raise dogs that have fighting in their genes. While these dogs can and do make great additions to responsible families, they are also the targets of the unscrupulous looking for easy money. I doubt these people think twice that they’re essentially pitting 3 year olds against one another. That’s roughly the mentality of these dogs, particularly when the ‘game’ is on. When it’s on, it’s very difficult to stop and might even appear enjoyable to the dogs to some. Witness what becomes of the dogs when the fight’s over though and it becomes starkly obvious there’s no joy in ripped skin, torn muscles, gouged eyes, broken teeth and bones to name a few. There is oftentimes too much damage to be repaired and the expense isn’t alloted in the budget regardless. These are for the most part, disposable creatures. What becomes of these dogs, even the winners at times, is a sad reflection of this “sport”. Hardly the gentleman’s pasttime that it’s considered by some.
